How Amphi Marketplace works

The rules behind the results: how suppliers are ordered, what is paid and what is not, and how companies manage their profiles.

For event organizers

How are the results ordered?

On a page for a place, local suppliers come first. Each company ranks by the closest of its service areas that covers the place you searched for:

  1. Based in that place. On a country page, based anywhere in that country.
  2. Works in that place, or in a place inside it, but is based elsewhere.
  3. Reaches the place with a radius it set around one of its places, for example 50 km around Lyon.
  4. Covers the place only through its whole country.
  5. Covers the place through a wider region, such as Europe & Central Asia.
  6. Works worldwide.

Companies on the same step are ordered like this: those based in the same country first, then, on a city page, the nearer headquarters. After that come profiles the company manages itself, then profiles with more complete and reliable data, and finally the name in alphabetical order.

On a page without a place, such as all live streaming companies, location plays no part and only that last order applies.

What do "Based in", "Serves" and "Travels worldwide" on a card mean?

"Based in" is where the company has its headquarters. "Serves" names the most specific area on its profile that covers the place you searched for, so a company that lists both France and Europe shows "Serves France" on a page for Lyon. "Travels worldwide" means the company takes work anywhere.

Where does the information about a company come from?

Many profiles start from the company's public website: we read it and describe in our own words what the company offers and where. Profiles are reviewed before they appear here, and every profile links to the company's own website.

A company can claim its profile and keep it up to date itself. Those profiles are marked "Managed by the company".

For suppliers

How do I claim my company's profile?

Find your company, sign in with your work e-mail (we send a one-time link, there is no password) and show that the company is yours. The quickest proof is an e-mail address on the company's domain, which works at once. You can also add a meta tag to your homepage, add a DNS TXT record, or ask for a manual review. A profile that someone already manages can only be joined through manual review.

How do I appear higher in the results?

The order follows the rules under "How are the results ordered?", so tell us where you work: your headquarters, every city, country or region you serve, and a radius around a place if you travel to events nearby. Claiming the profile also helps: among companies that are otherwise equal, profiles the company manages come first.

How do promoted spots work?

Promotion works like an auction for each service in each place:

  • Every service in every place has its own leaderboard, for example Live streaming in Prague or Catering in Czechia. A bid on Czechia does not count in Prague.
  • You bid in steps of $5, starting at $5. Your total for that service and place is the sum of what you have paid; a refund lowers it.
  • The 3 highest totals take the promoted spots. On equal totals, whoever reached the amount first stays ahead.
  • Promoted companies are shown above the regular results for exactly that service and place, labelled "Sponsored". A service page without a place uses the worldwide leaderboard.
  • A bid counts only while your profile is public, offers the service and serves the place. Until then it waits, and it counts again as soon as the profile qualifies.
  • Every place costs the same: the bids set the price.
  • If another company pushes you down from a promoted spot, we e-mail you the amount that wins it back.
  • Every leaderboard is public, so you can see the current bids before you pay. Payments go through Stripe and come with an invoice.

Can I change or delete my profile?

Yes. Once you manage it, you can edit everything: texts, services, places, contacts, links, logo and photos. Changes go live at once and we review them afterwards. Deleting the profile removes everything we hold about the company except its domain, which we keep so the profile is not created again from public sources.
